Malaysian agarwood. Sweeter and cleaner than the darker grades, with a fruit note that opens early.
Agarwood from Malaysia, where the tree grows in wetter forest than the Gulf is used to. The wood carries that: the smoke is cleaner and less earthy than the darker grades in the same branch.
It opens fast. Within a few seconds of the coal you get a sweetness that reads almost fruity, and it settles into a soft woody base rather than a heavy resin.
A good middle ground. Gentler than Maruki but with more body than the everyday chips, it suits a room where you want the scent noticed but not commented on.
How to use it
Two or three pieces on grey coal. It catches faster than the darker woods.
